Love Never Fails

One of my all-time favorite chapters in the Bible is 1 Corinthians 13. This is often referred to as “the love chapter” because that’s what it’s all about! LOVE! Here’s what it says:

If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing. Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. For we know in part and we prophesy in part, 10 but when completeness comes, what is in part disappears. 11 When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put the ways of childhood behind me. 12 For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known. 13 And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.

When I was thinking about a “collection” of jewelry that I could stamp, I went through many different ideas. One day it hit me – Love Never Fails. This is a truth that I’ve spoken so many times throughout my life, and continue to speak it today.

There’s been some things happening in my family here lately that have been very tough to deal with. Lots of hurt, betrayal, lying. Through it all, I can rest on the promise that God’s love never fails. Choices have been made by those close to me that have caused those around them to suffer, but God is still working and HE still loves even when another person’s love seems to have run out.

In light of the things that have been happening, it’s opened my eyes to see more clearly that I desparetely need a Savior whose love knows no boundaries, knows no faults, knows no imperfections. I’m so grateful for Jesus and the love he displayed the day that he hung on the cross; not only for me, but for all humanity. It’s love that redeemed man from a hopeless ending and love that gives me hope today of a better tomorrow.

Whatever you’re going through, whatever you’ve been through, and whatever you know you’re going to have to face, remember: there is a God who LOVES you and that love will never fail and it will never run out. It is the only perfect love will we ever know, and it is the sweetest love to receive.

My prayer through this collection of Love Never Fails jewelry is to simply remind people that there is a God who loves them dearly, right where they are at, in the middle of their junk, in the middle of their messed-up life, and even in the times when things seem to all be good-He still loves you.
