GUEST POST: Rob Hash, Author Of SIMPLE GOD Book

Hello. My name is Robert Hash and I am 22 years old.

When I was a senior in high school, everything seemed to go downhill for me. My relationship with my family was only filled with bitterness, my school was a waste of time, and I began to seek importance from somewhere. I even entered a relationship I should not have ever been in just to matter to someone. Just as expected, that ended and I was only hurt more.

It was a very cold time for me. I felt lonely. I felt forgotten. I felt useless. What made it all worse is that I knew I was saved. I was a Christian and still felt the cold sting of loneliness and abandonment. Just as Simba yelled out to the long, gone Mufasa, I would yell out to my Father in heaven: “You said you would always be there for me… but you’re not.”

I determined to leave Christianity. I determined to get away from this cursed cycle of self-hatred and condemnation; however, I couldn’t. I couldn’t get away. Why? Because there was a bigger plan. God started me on a journey to really find out what Christ is all about.

You see, what many people (even Christians) see Christianity as, isn’t really Christianity. They see a system. They see a life of misery. They see struggle at every thought. They see a mandate to hate everything you love and love everything fake; however, it’s just the opposite.

In April of 2010, in the middle of my guilt and condemnation, God found me and he pulled me out. He began to show me so much of who he really is. He showed me that He is always with me, regardless of my feelings. He showed me how He always had a GOOD plan for me, not to harm me, but to give me a future. He showed me that no matter what I had been through, he is using me!

He took me, a self-named “nobody from nowhere who wouldn’t do anything” and made me Robert Hash from Natchez Mississippi, a Son of God, and a life-changer. I have finished two years of Bible School, two years of a ministry internship, lead in a massive mission trip to Honduras, and have served as a missionary in Mexico for 5 months. In my life, I have probably led over 1,000 people to Jesus and I am still not content with that… Is any of this pride? Not a bit, because I didn’t do it. God did! What he has done for me, I know he will do in you!

No matter what you are going through, stop looking at your circumstances and put your eyes on the God that never leaves you. Put your eyes on the God who has an amazing plan for your life. Put your eyes on the King of Kings who has offered his hand to you, no matter where you are or what you have done.

I give you permission to be great! I give you permission to say, because Christ lives in me, I WILL BE A DIFFERENCE MAKER. Because Christ lives in me, I WILL CHANGE THE WORLD. Because Christ lives in me, I AM WHO HE SAYS I AM AND NOW WHO I THINK I AM. Say this: I AM GREAT BECAUSE HE IS GREAT FOR ME.

As Edna from the Incredibles would tell you: Go! Fight! Win!

{Born and raised in Natchez, Mississippi, Robert Hash was saved in 2005 at 13 years of age. He has graduated Victory Bible Institute in Tulsa, Oklahoma and is now serving at the Roca Blanca Mission Base in Oaxaca, Mexico. He launched RobertHash.org with Zech Nelson in the summer of 2012 in order to encourage people with the Word of God. He is the author of Simple God book. In the book, Robert shows 6 simple principles that make him confident to call himself a Christian. These concepts, although simple, are wonderfully profound and may help you understand who God is and what all He has done for us. Some of these include how:
God is good.
God loves people
God gives us identity
and more…
