Defining Our Dreams So We Can Turn Them Into Goals

Defining our dreams is actually going to be a very short and simple task, but it’s necessary if we ever wish to make goals to help us achieve them. So let’s jump right in and get started.

Grab you a pen and paper, open a new word document on your computer, or open up a new note on your phone. I a. m a pen and paper kind of girl so that’s my choice! Now, let the dreaming begin! Number your dreams as you write them out, and we can go back at a different time and arrange them by importance. Dreams should not have a deadline or any specific kind of requirements to fulfill them. For example, one of my dreams is to take a vacation to Paris. It doesn’t have a deadline, and there are no requirements specified for me to make it come true.

Dreams can come in many different categories. Some of the most popular ones are vacation/travel, income, personal possessions, careers. Here are some examples from these categories to get your mind going:

  1. Vacation/travel – I want to take a family vacation to Disney.
  2. Income – I want to make enough money for my husband and I to both work from home.
  3. Personal Possessions – I want to live in a 4 bedroom/3 bathroom home on 10 acres of land.
  4. Career – I want to be an orthopedic surgeon.

So get to dreaming, and write those dreams down! Your list can be as big or as small as you want it, but make sure you have AT LEAST 5 dreams written down. And remember, no dream is too big or too small!
